Seattle: Guided Underground Walking Tour

About This Experience

Head below the sidewalks of historic Pioneer Square on this guided Seattle Underground walking tour — a genuinely different hour that reveals the city hidden beneath the modern streets.

You'll explore three underground passageways originally built in the 1890s and walk over four city blocks as your guide tells the true, often funny story of how Seattle was born, burned in the Great Seattle Fire, and then literally rebuilt itself one storey higher. It's history with personality, not a museum lecture.

At around $31 it's one of the best-value experiences in the city and a favorite rainy-day pick — the tour is underground and weatherproof.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.6/5 by 2356 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

Our guide David was so informative, great at painting a picture of life in Seattle during the gold rush, and really engaging with the whole group. He was an excellent storyteller and we really appreciated his infectious spirit, knowledge, and high energy. He was also extremely polite to people not in our group, for example when we were all on the sidewalk and someone needed to get by, or when a retail worker was taking out the trash. He was nimble with all of the World Cup inconveniences, commenting on the changes occurring in the city, but not appearing put off by them at all. I highly recommend this engaging and informative tour and I hope that you get David as your guide!
